What changed on 1 July

The €150 exemption is gone

Low-value parcels used to enter the EU duty-free. A temporary flat duty now applies until the full tariff reform, planned for July 2028.

It counts tariff lines, not parcels

A parcel with a phone case, a cable and a charger can pay three times, because each product type has its own tariff code.

IOSS doesn't cover it

IOSS still handles the VAT. The duty is a separate charge, usually collected by the carrier and invoiced back to you.

Questions sellers ask

Does the duty apply to my parcels?

It applies to consignments with an intrinsic value of €150 or less, shipped from outside the EU straight to an EU customer. Goods already stocked inside the EU are not affected.

Does the quantity matter?

Under the interim rule the duty is charged per tariff classification, so five identical T-shirts count once, while a T-shirt and a cap count twice.

What about orders over €150?

Those were never duty-free. Normal EU tariffs apply, and this calculator does not estimate them.

Are there other new fees?

Some EU countries have announced their own handling fees on low-value parcels, and an EU-wide handling fee is under discussion. Use the handling fee field to model them.
